Nexus Affiliate Program FAQ

Everything you need to know about being on the team.

This FAQ covers how the program works, how you get paid, what we expect from you, and what happens when life gets in the way. Sections are grouped so you can jump straight to what you need. If your question isn't answered here, message our athlete team at partners@nexussportsnutrition.com we'd rather have the conversation than have you guess.

About The Program

What are our programs?

Nexus Crew - someone who loves Nexus and wanted to continue to support the brand, sharing their code to their friends and family

•   Athlete Track (Tier 1 → Tier 2 → Tier 3) - Our Athlete performance ladder. These are people who are in the industry, love the brand and want to give their community a discount, earn free products and make money via commission

•   Partner Program - Anyone who makes it to the top of the Athlete track has the ability to be invited into the Nexus partner program, this is an exclusive, invite only and includes things like getting your very own exclusive flavour or product.

•   Nexus Influencer - content-creator-first, picked by our marketing team for their amazing content.

How is this different from a traditional sponsorship?

Traditional sponsorships pay a flat fee for defined deliverables. Our program is a performance ladder - you earn more by driving more. You get a product allowance and a content brief regardless, but your cash commission scales with the sales your code drives. It rewards consistency over hype.

Who do I contact if I have a question?

For any questions please send through to partners@nexussportsnutrition.com. One of our dedicated staff members will get back to you.

Getting started

How do I apply?

Most athletes come through direct outreach from our team, referral from another athlete, or graduation from our Gifting Program. If you'd like to apply directly, the application form is available here.

Do I need a Business Instagram account?

Yes. The platform we use to track sales through your code and pay your commission does require your Instagram to be a Business account connected to Facebook. It's a free 2-minute switch inside the Instagram app. We can send you a step-by-step guide when you sign up. Without this, we can't track your sales or pay your commission.

What tools will I use?

•   Social Snowball - where you'll find your code, your Safelink, your sales dashboard, and where you submit content each month.

•   Tremendous - how your commission gets paid out. You'll get an email each month with a link to choose your payout method.

•   Nexus online store - where you'll spend your monthly product voucher.

Do I get my own dashboard?

Yes. Each individual athlete received their very own personal dashboard and log in. You can check in real time how many clicks your code has driven, how many orders have come through, and your commission balance. Nothing hidden, the same numbers we see are the numbers you see.

How do I get my discount code?

Your code is generated automatically when you sign up in Social Snowball. It's protected by Safelink, which means only your community can use it as a coupon-code; websites can't scrape it and leak it. You'll receive the code and your Safelink URL in your welcome email.

What are the tiers?

What tiers are there, and where will I start?

There are three athlete tiers plus the Partner Program at the top. Almost everyone starts at Tier 1 for an initial 90-day trial period before being upgraded into Tier 2. If you come in with an established audience and clear conversion potential, you might start at Tier 2. Tier 3 and Partner spots are earned over consistent commitment to the brand.

What do I get at each tier?
What's expected at each tier?

The full detail - what each deliverable looks like, what "post" means, how content is submitted, is covered in Section 6 below.

Tier progression (moving up)

How do I get promoted from Tier 1 to Tier 2?

In order to move from Tier 1 into Tier 2 is to drive a minimum of 10 orders of at least $100 each through your code within your 90-day trial and complete all posting requirements each month. Only orders that clear $100 count towards the milestone, so the minimum you'd have driven is $1,000 in sales, but usually it's more. Once you hit 10 qualifying orders, at the end of your trial period, if you have hit 10 orders, our team will reach out to you and onboard you into the full program.

How do I get promoted from Tier 2 to Tier 3?

Hold above $500/month in code-attributed sales for three consecutive months. Once you've done that, our team will book a call to have the Tier 3 conversation 🤩

How do I make Partner?

Partner is invitation only. There's no fixed threshold, it's manual, based on sustained excellence across sales, content, community influence, and brand fit. Adam and Shane approve every Partner personally. If you're on the trajectory, you'll know, we'll be in regular conversation with you well before the invite lands.

Can I stay at Tier 1 forever?

Tier 1 is designed as a 90-day trial period to help us understand where you best fit within the Nexus community. At the end of your 90-day window, we’ll review your progress together. If you’ve cleared the 10-order benchmark, you’ll move up to Tier 2. If not, we’ll help guide you toward the best next step.

We’re here to support you and want everyone who enters the program to be successful and get real value from being part of Nexus. For some people, that might mean moving into our Affiliate Program. For others, it may mean staying connected as a community supporter and continuing to grow with us in a different way.

If you do exit the program, you’re always welcome to re-apply through the Gifting Program six months later if things change.

Tier progression (moving down)

Can I move down tiers?

Yes. If your code sales sit below the tier floor for 8 consecutive weeks, you may be moved down a tier. This is to keep it fair for those who are consistently showing up. It's not personal, it's how we keep the program fair for everyone.

What triggers this?

•   Tier 2 → Tier 1: sales below $250/month for 8 consecutive weeks.

•   Tier 3 → Tier 2: sales below $500/month for 8 consecutive weeks.

•   Partner: there's no automatic demotion - this is handled by direct conversation.

Before any movement happens, someone from the team will have already reached out usually more than once to look at ways in supporting you to maintain your current position.

What happens to my commission?

Your commission rate drops to the new tier's rate on future sales. Anything you've already earned but not yet been paid is unaffected, the commission you've clocked at 20% stays at 20% for that period. Your product allowance also shifts to the new tier's amount from the next full month.

Can I climb back up?

Absolutely. If you're moved from Tier 2 to Tier 1, you can climb back to Tier 2 by clearing another 10 orders of $100+ within a fresh 90-day window. Tier 3 works the same, hit the $500/month floor for 3 consecutive months and you're back up.

Staying in your program

What are my monthly deliverables?

Each tier has a specific content package due each calendar month. Tier 1: 1 post + 2 stories. Tier 2 and Tier 3: 4 posts + 8 stories. Partner: 2 feed posts + 2 Reels + 8 stories. Every tier requires a Nexus bio mention at all times. To help you with ideas, we will send out educational content, what's launching this month, tips and tricks etc at the beginning of each month.

Do stories, Reels, and static posts all count?

Yes, with a bit of nuance. "Post" means either a static feed post or a Reel, you choose which format suits your audience best. Stories are separate and counted separately. All content needs to tag @nexussportsnutrition and/or @nexusactivewear depending on which product you're featuring, and include a reference to your discount safelink where it makes sense.

How do you check I've delivered?

At the end of every calendar month, our team runs a check inside Social Snowball to confirm you've hit your content package. Once you're confirmed, we process your product allowance voucher (Section 9). If you're short, someone will reach out before the voucher is held back, you'll always get a chance to catch up or explain what's happened.

How do I submit my content?

Through the Social Snowball content submission feature. When you post, tag us, and add your submission to Snowball, the platform logs it automatically against your monthly deliverables. This replaces the old "send us the link" process, is much cleaner, and you can see your submission count in your dashboard.

What are the bio mention rules?

Your Instagram bio must include one of: a Nexus tag (@nexussportsnutrition or @nexusactivewear), the Nexus name in text, or your affiliate code. This is required at all times you're in the program, not just during your trial or active month. If you take Nexus out of your bio for another campaign, please flag it with partners@nexussportsnutrition.com first so we are aware.

When you miss a month

What happens if I miss my deliverables once?

Not much, one month happens. Someone from the team will reach out at the end of the month with a warm heads-up: what got missed, and whether you can make it up in the next 7 days or roll it into next month. Your product allowance voucher is held until you've caught up.

What about multiple months?

If you miss two consecutive months without communicating with us, someone may reach out, if they receive no response for more than 10 days, you may be removed from the program. This isn't a punishment, it's how we keep the program viable at scale. Silence is what triggers the exit, not missing content. If you're in touch with us, we can almost always work something out.

Nexus supports its athletes through the messy stuff - we've done it before and we'll do it again. The only thing we ask is that you let us know something is going on. It doesn't need to be detailed. "Hey Tahnee, I'm dealing with something and need to pause for 4 weeks" is enough.

How do I communicate with Nexus if something's up?

Please email partners@nexussportsnutition.com. If it's urgent or sensitive, you can reach out on social media or have someone else message us at a time that works best for you.

How you get paid

How does commission work?

Every time a customer uses your code (or comes through your Safelink) and checks out, the sale is tracked in Social Snowball. Your commission is calculated on the net sale value at your tier's commission rate - 15% at Tier 2, 20% at Tier 3, 25% at Partner. Tier 1 is not a paid tier for cash commission. However, you do earn store credit instead.

What's the 30-day hold, and why does it exist?

Keep in mind, if you cannot access your commission yet that every sale sits on a 30-day hold before it becomes payable. This gives the return window time to close, and it protects the program from a small number of bad actors who may place large orders through their own code just to farm commission, then refund the order. Nothing fancy, it's the industry standard.

When exactly do payouts land?

Commissions clear their 30-day hold and become available for payout on a rolling basis. Once the month closes, our team will run the monthly payout batch and push everything that's cleared to Tremendous, usually within the first week of the following month. You'll get an email from Tremendous the same day.

How do I receive my payout via Tremendous?

Tremendous sends you an email with a link to your payout. You click through and choose from a menu of payout methods, PayPal, direct bank transfer, prepaid Visa, and various gift cards including Amazon and Woolworths. Your choice, one payout at a time. You can pick a different method next month if you want.

What happens if a customer returns something?

If the return happens inside the 30-day hold window, the commission on that order is simply removed before payout, you don't notice a thing. If a return happens after payout, the commission clawback is deducted from your next month's payout.

Product allowance

What is the product allowance?

A monthly Nexus online-store voucher: $150 at Tier 2, $200 at Tier 3, $250 at Partner. Tier 1 athletes receive a welcome pack rather than an ongoing voucher, plus 10% store credit calculated on your code-attributed sales.

How is it issued?

After the end-of-month deliverables check, the team confirms you've met your content package and generates your voucher. It arrives by email as a unique code you enter at checkout on the Nexus online store. Usually within the first 7 days of the new month. See here for more information.

When does it expire?

Vouchers expire 30 days from the day they're issued. Use them or lose them, they don't stack month-to-month. If you know you'll be away when your voucher lands, message the team ahead of time and we can hold or reissue.

Can I combine it with my personal discount code?

No, vouchers can't be stacked with your affiliate code. It's one or the other at the checkout. The voucher gives you a fixed dollar amount to spend however you like on our full range; your code is for your community.

What can I spend it on?

Anything on the Nexus online store, supplements, apparel, accessories, special-drop items. Your call. Free shipping thresholds and normal store conditions still apply, but the voucher itself has no product exclusions.

What happens if I don't meet my deliverables?

You either miss the product allowance that month or depending on how much you missed, you might be able to complete your deliverable and still receive it. Someone from the team will reach out to check in, miss one month, we'll work it out. Miss multiple months without communicating and you may be removed from the program (covered in Section 7).

Content rights

Can Nexus use my content in paid ads?

Yes. As part of your athlete agreement, you grant Nexus permission to use content you create for the program in our paid advertising, Instagram ads, Facebook ads, TikTok ads, landing pages, email campaigns. This applies to content featuring Nexus products where you've tagged us. Content you post unrelated to Nexus is entirely yours and off-limits to us.

Do I get paid extra when my content is used?

Standard content usage for organic and paid social is covered by your commission and product allowance, no additional fee.

Do I keep the rights to my own content?

Yes, you own your content. What you grant Nexus is a licence to use it for the purposes above. You can keep posting it anywhere else you like, and you keep it forever.

What if I leave the program, can Nexus still use old content?

Content created while you were in the program can continue to be used in Nexus advertising for 12 months after you leave. After 12 months, we'll pull it down from active ad rotation unless we've agreed to an extension with you.

How do I flag if I don't want a piece used?

Message the team. Whether it's a specific photo you're not happy with, something taken during a rough patch, or content that no longer feels right, we will take it out of rotation, no drama. This is your image and your brand too.

Exclusivity

Am I exclusive to Nexus?

It depends on your tier. Tier 1 athletes are non-exclusive by default, you can work with other brands across supps and apparel. For Tier 2, with approval, you may be able to be exclusive to either Nexus Supps or Nexus Activewear, this is by approval only. Tier 3 and Partner athletes must be Nexus-only across both supplements and apparel.

What if I'm already contracted to another brand?

At Tier 1 that's fine, Tier 2, by request this may also be fine. It also depends on the brand i.e. are they a competitor or just in a completely different industry.  Our team will make sure to confirm your lane with you at signup: Non-exclusive, Supps-only, Apparel-only, or Combined. At Tier 3 there's no room for another brand in either lane.

Contract & term

How long is my agreement?

12 months, rolling. Your agreement automatically continues month-to-month at the end of the term unless either party gives notice.

What happens at the end of 12 months?

Around Month 11, Someone will schedule a review with you, check in how the year went, what's working, what could shift. If you're on track and happy, we renew for another 12 months (potentially at a promoted tier). If not, we either adjust or wind things down properly.

Can I leave the program?

Yes, any time. Give us 30 days' notice by email so we can process any outstanding commission, retrieve products where applicable, and part on good terms. Any commission clocked before your exit date is still paid out. Your code will be disabled at the end of the notice period.

Tax & ABN (Australian Athletes)

Do I need an ABN?

For most athletes earning commission from us, yes. If you expect to earn more than $75 in commission across the year (nearly all athletes will), you need to have an ABN and provide it to us. Applying for one is free and takes 15 minutes at abr.gov.au. We'll ask for a copy at signup.

Is my commission taxable?

Yes. Commission is income and must be declared in your annual tax return. Your product allowance voucher is generally also taxable as a benefit. We're not tax advisors — if you're unsure how to declare it, speak with an accountant. Any decent one will handle affiliate/sponsorship income in their sleep.

Do you provide any tax documentation?

Yes. At the end of the Australian financial year (30 June) we send you a summary of what Nexus paid you across commissions and product allowances over the 12-month period. That summary is what you give your accountant.

Anything else?

If your question isn't answered above, message the team. We update this FAQ regularly based on what athletes actually ask us, if you spotted a gap reading through, that's genuinely helpful to hear.
